Once upon a time there was a beautiful baby girl born to a loving and happy couple. Mom and Dad seen that their little girl loved watching fish in the home aquarium. Her toys and stuffed animals were always something from the waters. Her name was Annie Collins and as she grew, she became more and more interested and delighted with her study on whales from grade school.
She knew what she wanted to have as a career and went to collage for her masters in … yep. Marine Biology. Her parents were so proud to see her graduate because they knew their daughter had such potential to be anything she wanted in life. Annie wanted to talk to whales.
Annie quickly after collage enters her residency working on board a research vessel the Ocean Gull. She studied sharks and their movement, mating habits, feeding habits. It was great and she did love it so. But Annie couldn't wait to be aboard a ship that was researching whales.
She did very well at her residency, that the lead Scientist on the Ocean Gull would help Annie get on board the White Sea a huge research vessel dedicated to researching whales.
For the next 50 years Annie was working on whale communication and her goal was to identify a sound and be able to link the sound with a reaction. Thus, a sound that is always heard that causes the pod to scatter was sssstrrtrrtrrssiiisss sound. Annie tried but making the same sounds the whale made was hard at first but as the years went on Annie believed she was able to talk whales although no whale ever spoke to her. Annie felt what was lacking was a name. If she could learn a name this may solve the problem with her communicating by attempting to just communicate with one. A name, just a name and that is what Annie now sought for the next 25 years.
Annie had thousands of hours of video and audio recordings she felt no closer to finding an actual name than she was with learning sssstrrtrrtrrssiiisss, or run. Which she tried several times with an underwater speaker and the pod did nothing.
Retirement is closing in and she has become old. Her retirement party is approaching in weeks, and she tirelessly works watching her videos. Days before her retirement she finds it. “Is that right?” She, questions in not one but 3 separate videos she is watching the pod and each time rrrsscicicicsssst is heard just one whale moves. Just one of the whales react each time Annie hears, “rrrsscicicicsssst.” that is it Annie must make this assumption from her research “I found a name!” Annie practices the sound and say's I can speak the name of that whale!”
Calling her closet colleges, she revels to them she needs them to come and film this momentous event in science as she will show the world, she can speak to a whale by understanding and pronouncing one name. Annie has faith this will work from her training she was ready to do what others dreamed of.
The crew of scientist assembled, and Annie got into a acrylic bubble where she could sit observe and speak. Inside the bubble her mic was wired to an underwater speaker designed for this type of work. The scientist watching could hear her as well. The pod of whales was closer, and Annie took a drink of water from a canteen she took into the bubble.
The whale pod was now around her and Annie has spotted the whale from her video research. “It's him. Get ready.” Annie tells the crew. Cameras are running, audio is good everything is a go. “Go, Annie.” Then, Annie begins by doing some audible sounds Whales make. Then she begins “rrrsscicicicsssst.” “Annie.” the one scientist is saying over communications “we are listening to the original sound on deck that you recorded of the whale, and it isn't like what you are sounding.” Annie, “Feed the sound in my headphones once to refresh. I'm a bit nervous.” After Annie hears the sound again, she lets everyone know she is going to sound now. “rreersscicecessst.” “rrr(spit spit spit) cicicicsssst.”
The whale did not respond and no matter what Annie did even in listening to the sound 3 more times before the pod swam away, her sounds meant nothing. She realized then; she did not know what she believed anymore. She believed even had faith she could and one day would, talk to the most intelligent mammals on the planet. An animal we have direct access to and have been in study of for hundreds of years. Annie had a theory that other humans were doing something wrong and that is why we could not speak together.
She realized we didn't do anything wrong. Over the decades of studying whales. We know so much about an amazing mammal and how intelligent and lovey they are. But we do not and cannot right now (Less a technology spans that gap) talk to this intelligent mammal right here right now. Annie realizes something else a spiritual awakening is occurring at the end of her life. Can we talk to God?
If we cannot talk to this animal of intelligent origin, how do we talk to the “divine?” It wasn't long the Spirit of clarity visited Annie. The night before her retirement. The Spirit entered Annies's dream and spoke. People “do” speak to their God and their God alone, but they do not speak to the divine because the divine is not the “he” God, the world knows only a he god and the he god is not the divine Annie Collins. The divine is not flesh but spirit and is not he nor she. You do not speak to this entity from here for you are not spirit yet. But you will speak to GOD Annie Collins when you are spirit again.
I believed, Annie said. I had faith we can speak to God. I grew up being told we need to believe in what we cannot see but do not believe in what we could see. I believed with all my heart. Annie weeping in her dream. Spirit, "From what the church told me," Annie said, "all of god's chosen spoke to him." .... "Because I was filled with that belief in life.
I will talk, I can talk to whales, I believed this. But I cannot do this. I cannot speak to whales because we are not whales. I am not a whale. I now understand, the divine is spirit and how can I talk to this spirit when I am not spirit." Annie realized something so simple it opened her mind in that dream with Spirit. She could never talk to whales because she wasn't a whale, but she has clarity now that she will speak to the divine because soon, she will be spirit.
Annie had an amazing time at her retirement party. She felt like she was twenty again. She didn't care she failed talking to whales. She was in love with a new clarity she just found. Annie died with one simple but profound clarity. And in this story Annie's soul was lifted up to Gods kingdom because she didn't believe she could talk to whales anymore. Our GOD of spirit, our GOD of Divine. GOD loved Annie even more even if it was only a little bit of Clarity, it was enough.
Thank You Annie Collins
